people jumping surviving to thriving in the lunar eclipse in sagittarius

Surviving

On May 26, we have the first eclipse in a series with the Lunar Eclipse in Sagittarius. The second will follow on June 11 in its opposite sign, Gemini.  Eclipses come in pairs, one Lunar and one Solar, both with different energetic objectives for our lives, but both coming around like clockwork to help us course correct.

Eclipses Equal Change

Eclipses are a relatively normal phenomenon. We can have anywhere between one to three in a year—and 2021 gives us two sets.  So why the hype if these occurrences happen every year?  The answer is simple: eclipses equal inevitable, often drastic changes. As humans we have a hard time coping with change.

When the mind hears that change is upon us, it begins to anticipate and habitually goes into survival mode; a hardwire embedded in the strands of our DNA. When in survival mode, we can conjure fatalistic thoughts. Black or white thinking sets in, and this triggers the fight or flight mechanism.  Let’s not shame ourselves here. This is one of the jobs of the brain, to protect and prepare us.

Flipping the Switch During the Lunar Eclipse in Sagittarius

The Zodiac tells the story of our life cycles. When we transition from the sign Scorpio into Sagittarius, we transition from survival mode into thriving mode.  With that said, this eclipse in Sagittarius is offering us a chance to flip the switch. We just need to understand the mechanics of the flip and how to do it—How to flip from surviving to thriving.

At this time, we welcome the waves of expansive and opportunistic energy of the Sagittarius Lunar Eclipse and Full Moon!

Sagittarius at its highest vibrational output represents the possibility of EXPANSION in our lives. This sign brings blessings and optimism wherever he goes. I have an image of Oprah in my head (a Sagittarius Moon native) yelling at everyone in the crowd,

“And you get a car, and you get a car….everyone gets a car!”

This is an all-encompassing energy that comes from an expansive belief system. The energy of Sagittarius goes with the flow of life while having its arrow aimed towards a final destination. With their beliefs in tow, there may be a re-routing that takes place but what is meant for them will always be for them, or better.  Black or white doesn’t exist in the energy of Sag. They step out of fight of flight into a space of beliefs, overly optimistic or not, always getting their way.

Coming out of the sign of Scorpio, a purposeful, powerful primordial survivor and heading into the sign Sagittarius, seemingly magic-based, is much like flipping a switch, in that, it’s a choice of the mind.  Life is not black or white in most cases. It’s a lot of grey.  If we’re not fighting or fleeing from mountain lions as our ancestors once needing to do, then we have to look for the path down the middle in life’s experiences.

Onward as we flip the switch of our lives!

Thriving

The fatalism of Scorpio turns into the grandest possibilities that the Universe has up its sleeves.  As we become more conscious beings, we can learn to replace surviving with thriving—but first we must understand that this shift occurs through replacing our knee-jerk reactions with a deeper knowledge and belief.

This isn’t to say that once you flip the switch, the hardships don’t exist and that the autonomous nature of our instincts won’t kick in. It’s also not to say that eclipses won’t still bring change into our lives.  But it is to say that there is always something grander to believe in, a bigger picture that exists past the scarcities of nature.

4 Tips to Flip the Switch during this Lunar Eclipse and Full Moon in Sagittarius:

1. Life isn’t only black or white, it exists mostly in the grey area.

Recognize when you begin to polarize a situation. This could involve going from loving to hating someone, painting someone as the bad guy, or only seeing two options in our situations.

2. What you believe in, you give your power to.

Do you believe that what is meant for you will always be for you, or that something even better is on its way? If not, explore why not? Where does this belief come from?

3. Big inhale in, and COMPLETELY exhale out.

This will activate the diaphragm, allow more blood flow to the heart, signal to the brain that we aren’t in danger, and slow down our fight or flight response. This allows more time to see our situation more clearly.

4. Ask yourself, “What would Oprah do?”

No, seriously. When we adopt the energy of Sag we are in an abundance mentality. Who has more abundance thinking than Oprah?

Abundance Is You: The New Moon in Taurus

A vision is stirred in the mind’s eye as the New Moon in Taurus approaches: There you are, you’re being fed grapes by your lover in a garden oasis. Your favorite song plays on repeat, seemingly reverberating from the clouds.  There are money trees shading the perfect seventy-five degree weather from the Sun shining above. You don’t need to be anywhere but right there. Far away places are of no interest, neither does the next moment.  Because you have everything you need right where you are, you are abundant.

The Taurean Archetype & Valuing the Material World

Taurus rules the material realm of our lives.  It rules our bodies, life’s simple pleasures, luxuries and creature comforts of the five senses.  One would say Taurus is a bit of a hedonist with its desires to indulge in the sensual experiences of life, but Taurus is onto something.  He knows that there is intrinsic value in the physical and being of the flesh suit, therefore he places priority and invests time into the here and now.

Ironically, as humans we have a tendency to devalue the needs of the body and the physicality of life.  Often, we push our bodies past their limits, bulldoze or even wish to transcend them altogether.  When we refuse to see the inherent value of the physical and the abundance that is always present for us, when we don’t take the time to invest into the physical, we cut off our material abundance.

5 No BS Rules to Creating Material Abundance for the New Moon in Taurus

As the New Moon in Taurus approaches this upcoming Tuesday, May 11, it’s only natural we take the no BS approach.  Synchronistically or not, Taurus also rules the animal the bull.  The most simple and straight forward of the signs; what you see is truly what you get.

So, how do we create material abundance?  Follow the rules below:

Rule #1 Know your worth!

You have inherent worthiness—no matter what.  Taurus knows this as fact, and because of this he is ruler of self-worth, being the sign that rules money.

Rule #2 Creating more material abundance is also inside job.

We often feel more worthy as humans if we have the external reality to reflect to us, I have money equals I have worth.  Sure it makes sense, it can help, but the more we feel abundant on the inside, the more we gain externally.

Rule #3  It’s OK to need and want more.

There is a running story of shame that sometimes comes with recognition of needs or wants of more material abundance.  This can include money, material things, or even being fed grapes by your lover!  Allowing this story to run in the background of our lives creates blocks.  Ask for what you need and want, and OWN IT!

Rule #4 More abundance means not settling for less.

Basically, we need to leave the table if we aren’t being fed!  More abundance means being honest to ourselves about where we aren’t being met halfway, and where we are giving out value and not receiving in return.

Rule #5 To gain more material abundance, you need invest in the material world.

Place the physical experience as a priority.  Treat your body like the temple it is.  Take a look at what your immediate environment is presenting you, and practically rearrange as needed.  Make investments.  Desire money, desire luxury, and admit it out loud!

Follow these rules as we approach the New Moon in Taurus.

Invest and find value in your physical reality and you’ll surely reap what you sow.  Happy New Moon, may it bless your way to material abundance, opulence and an inner knowing of your inherent worthiness in this physical manifestation!

We are Deserving of Transformation

Welcome to Taurus Season! Taurus is bringing us major sacred feminine Empress vibes. You can identify these moods in your life as simple creature comforts that provide pleasure for the five senses. These include: anything that brings harmony, rest for the physical body, comfort foods, time with Mother Nature, the inpso needed to transform our environments into a Garden of Eden, and material abundance and money, baby! Say it with us, “WE ARE DESERVING!”

Taurus rules the foundations of the Here and Now in our lives. These foundations that we build must be seeded into grounds of fertility. For us to harvest prosperity, we must dismantle the old structures built on deficiency in order to reap rewards the season has for us.

Full Moon in Scorpio Energy

It is time to prepare as the the ominous Full Moon in Scorpio takes place on Monday, April 26. The energy of this time will aid us in the rebuilding process. Scorpio is the opposite sign of Taurus, and offers us a necessary balance to this season of fruitful harmony.  Blooming and decaying come hand in hand; each is necessary for the other. While Taurus is fertility and life, Scorpio is transformation and death.

Scorpio and death are highly misunderstood in our society. In many cultures, death is seen as a beautiful transition, not an ending.  Our polarized view of death as permanent and powerful, reinforces the illusion of control and can be wrapped up in our personal attachments as well as triggering our deepest fears.

This is the lower octave of Scorpio; it manifests as control dynamics in relationships. Intense feelings like jealousy and envy, addictions, and taboo subjects and secrets. It is through the higher octave of Scorpio, which is transformation, that we can harness its mighty energy, by releasing our fears and control and transforming it into our power.

This is the essence of the Scorpio Full Moon. The Universe bestows us with abundance. This flourishing can only occur when the transformation takes place beneath the surface.  Let’s dive deep during this cleansing Full Moon cycle.

Releasing Fear and Transforming It Into Power

In order to release the fears that are entwined with the lower octaves that can come up during this Full Moon in Scorpio, we must be willing to acknowledge them. And to let them go. Don’t worry, we won’t travel into the underworld without a light!

Supplies

  • 1 white candle
  • 2 pieces of paper and a pen
  • 1 lighter, matches or a flame
  • A willingness to be honest with self

The Full Moon Ritual

  • Step 1: Dim the lights in your space, or turn them off altogether.  This serves a reminder to go into the dark spaces.
  • Step 2: Light the white candle, which represents the purity of our dark truths, that ultimately light the way.
  • Step 3: Write a list of everything you wish to release and relinquish. This includes: fears, control dynamics, characteristics of the shadow self, whatever arises when you start writing.
  • Step 3: Reread this list, and then bring it outside under the rays of the Full Moon.  In a safe environment, burn the list as an act of release.
  • Step 4: Now, make a list of everything that inspires your positive personal power.
  • Step 5: Incorporate these qualities into your practice by reading them daily until the Moon moves out of Scorpio on May 28. This will release your fear and allow you to embody the transformation to embody these positive attributes and qualities.

New Moon in Aries: The Astrological New Year

Happy Astrological New Year, yogis! The Astrology community marks the start of the year in tandem with the seasons. And now Spring has sprung, so this is the beginning of all beginnings. We’re wrapping up the past year that was spent in the process of transforming the parts our lives that were deadening to our spirits. Sometimes that transformation might have happened against our will at first, but hopefully, in retrospect, we can see the places where some things may have served our greater good. Now, as we launch into the first New Moon of the New Year, Aries has something to teach us about what it means to be spirited beings.

The Spirited Aries Nature

Aries are the most enthusiastic of the Zodiac signs; they give new meaning to the word spirited. They are the fire sign that represents the initial spark and entrance of Spirit into the body. Aries beings are excited by life! They represent the ages one through seven, a time period during which we interacted with life as if everything was a first experience.  You can recognize this in the Aries nature.

Act, Align, Accelerate

You begin to recognize this in yourself by paying attention to the instinct and motivation that rise within you and allow you to assert your will and to GO!! (Also an Aries thing). This is what makes us want to ACT, ALIGN, and ACCELERATE toward what makes us feel connected, excited, and spirited.  When we connect to what makes us feel spirited…we begin to walk hand in hand with Source, and truly co-create the lives we desire.

As humans we often forget that we are the individual streams and rivers connected to an almighty and large oceanic Source.  You can call it God, call it Universe, call it the Divine, call it what you will, but it runs through us all at every moment of the day.  With that being said, we are co-creators. We may “know” what we want and desire, but Source knows what’s possible and purposeful per our paths, and the collective.

While we hear that New Moons are potent periods to set intentions and create goals (and they are), we don’t always possess the full scope of what Source can see.  This is where the choice of being a spiritual creature comes into play. Because it is when we are connected to Spirit that the mind and the ego can be silenced. When we are connected to what makes us spirited, Source runs through us, and we are guided to what is sacred to our highest being.

Connect to Spirit During the New Moon in Aries

  1. Ask for guidance, assistance or signs from Spirit, Universe, your angels, wherever your connection exists – let them speak to you.
  2. Pray – surrender the confusing portions of your life.
  3. Meditate – if you already have a practice, meditate more, this will clear your vessel so you can be a conduit to Spirit.
  4. Make a list of what lights you up- the things that ignite you show the direction to go toward.
  5. Make a list of what makes you contract – know what extinguishes the flame to build awareness.
  6. Record yourself – speak out the uncertainties, the mind has a tendency to muddy our connection with Spirit.
  7. Listen to music that makes you feel expansive.
  8. Educate yourself on the Sacral Chakra – Aries rules the Sacral Chakra.
  9. Trust your gut feelings and hunches.
  10. Allow yourself to make mistakes while learning to navigate your way to Spirit.

Full Moon in Libra: Self-Actualizing in Relationships

The Full Moon in Libra takes place March 28. It is beginning to whisper sweet nothings into our ears of all the things we long for that the sign Libra brings into our lives. These things include: partnerships, relational love, balance, harmony, and beauty.

This Moon is very other focused. Libra represents relationships in astrology, but unlike Full Moons in Libra of the past, this one has a hefty dose of self-focus included into the mix.  With the pile-up of three planets sitting in opposite sign Aries, the sign of the individual self, this Moon says it takes two to tango in the dance of love.

Deep feelings will be illuminated around our own self-actualization in the face of our closest relationships and partnerships.  Do we feel like we have the freedom to be ourselves in them?  What insecurities or wounding comes up in the face of another that hold us back from being our most authentic selves?

Libra is sitting us down at the table of relations. She wants mutuality here and she wants us to bring our entirety.  Choosing to sit at this table forces us to look straight into the eyes of another with all that we are— insecurities, wounds, pain and all, to cultivate deeper bonds, and manifest the type of love we desire.

Pull up a chair, take a seat at the table and let us examine our authenticity in relation to the people in our lives, and relationships yet to manifest.

full moon in libra journaling

Full Moon in Libra Journaling

The Table

Imagine that you’re sitting at a table. There are two chairs at this table: One for you and one for other. (Those you are in relationships and partnerships with).

To sit that this table there must be a natural reciprocity present. To bring themselves to the table, everyone must bring their self— their whole self.  This includes the insecurities, wounds, and parts of ourselves we feel uncomfortable sharing.

During this exercise you will imaginatively place the different people in your life across from you at the table.  Explore anyone in your life while answering these questions in journal form. The more we examine these parts of ourselves, the more our relationships can deepen, and the faster we can attract the partnerships we desire into our lives.

* Bonus points if put yourself at the end of the table and ask these questions in relation to yourself.

Reflection Questions

  • _______________________ (insert name of person you’re in relation to) is sitting across from me at the table.
  • What do I hold back from feeling and emoting around them?  Why?
  • What do I hold back in my expression of self around them?  Why?
  • Is it just this person that I hold back these parts of myself with?  Do I withhold these from myself? Why?
  • Do I feel like there is room to make mistakes without serious consequences?  Why?
  • How can I bring these isolated parts of myself to the table so I can feel more self-actualized in my relationship?

Making a Playlist to Connect with Feeling Magic

The Pisces season is ruled by the water element. In astrology, the water element represents feelings, moods, intuition, and emotions. These ebbs and flows are well known to stir the emotional body so this season can be uncomfortable for the many of us who are resistant to diving into the waters. But this can also be a time of magic and manifestation.  Pisces is one of the most powerful manifestors of the Zodiac. And that is because of these things we like to call feelings.

I want you to imagine a magical ocean in your mind. These oceanic waters are representative of the best feelings a human can access, such as joy, bliss and elation; it’s pure Source energy.  Now, I want you to imagine that as individuals we are each a part of this ocean. We are the separate rivers, streams, ponds, and lakes.  Our branches of water stem off of Source and because of this the abundant flow is inalienable to us, because it is us.

ocean waves showcasing feeling magic

While this inseparable and never-ending current between Source and us continues to run, it’s our job to maintain the waters as to not become muddied and clogged. In the flow we are able to facilitate our wildest and most magical dreams. At times we may feel out of control and at whim to the deep, mysterious undertows. This can cause us to resist the very flow of our bountiful expansion.

You see, while the waters can get rough in certain areas, we must know that if we dam any part of the flow, we impede on our Source, the current that manifests the moments, experiences, and people and things we desire.  Utilizing our feelings and emotions with a conscious mind, instead of letting them rule us, can create the most powerful cataclysm of momentum for manifesting.

This New Moon in Pisces on March 13 possesses an omnipotent energy available for us to tap into.  The New Moon is already a potent lunar phase supporting our ability to set intentions, plant seeds to watch grow, and for new beginnings. Yet this one in particular is giving us hydro-speed waters in order to accelerate our manifesting.  But we must catch the wave! The way we do this is by harnessing the powers of our feelings.

So, it’s time for some feeling magic. We’re going to make a playlist that we can use to tune into on the daily to tap into your own feeling magic. Have you ever played your favorite song on repeat? You do this because you want to recreate the way it makes you FEEL over and over again. As we’ve already discussed, the abundant feeling we allow ourselves to tap into ushers the flow of magic into our lives. Let’s get to it!

Making A Playlist For Feeling Magic & Manifestation

This playlist is to get you out of the heady cerebral space and into the intuitive and emotional body. After you’ve made your playlist it’s important to listen to it everyday until the Full Moon in Libra on March 28. The more you can tune into the uplifting playlist you’re about to create, the better you can harness and direct your feelings into the abundant flow, and therefore usher in all the magic you hope to create this lunar cycle.

Playlist Process…Making Magic

  1. Create the playlist using a music platform of your choice.
Name the playlist. It could be something like “Feeling Magic,” “Manifestation Playlist,” “New Moon Magic.” Make sure it’s something that inspires you, just like the songs you’ll add to it.
  2. Begin selecting songs. Be intentional. The purpose is to select songs that aid you in experiencing feelings like abundance, love ,and freedom.  Ask yourself some of the following questions. “What do I want to feel on a daily basis?” Or “What songs make me feel limitless?” Then choose songs according to these feelings.
  3. Make the playlist as intentional as possible. Choose the number of songs that feels right to you and choose the order in which you’ll listen to them. Which song would be a great opener? Which song would be a good finale?
  4. Listen to your playlist. Listen to it on the night of the New Moon, while doing a ritual, lighting your candles, charging your crystals, setting your intentions, et cetera.  Fully embody the music, allowing your feelings and emotions to be guided. If you feel called to dance during the process, this will usher even more momentum.
  5. After the New Moon, make it a point to listen to your playlist every day.  Remember, the FEELINGS the music produces inside your body are the most important part of this process. Don’t be afraid to let the rhythms take a hold of you!
  6. Lastly, be patient, be present, and believe in your abundance and the power of feeling magic.  Wait for the manifestations to flow in from all your hard work!

Blessed New Moon, yogis!

The Full Moon in Virgo: Illuminating Purification

We’re going to tap into the energies of this Full Moon in Virgo by exploring two common Virgo archetypal habits: self-criticism and ritual work. Self-criticism is a defeating cycle the energy of Virgo can create within us while ritual work is a powerful and positive tool that is an instinctive part of the Virgo nature that we can use for purification. The energy of Virgo is not exclusive to those of us born during that season. Everyone has these energetic strands in their astro-DNA and the Full Moon is illuminating these parts of our lives.

We can learn a thing or two from Virgos during this Moon cycle. They’re good with details and recognizing imperfections so this makes Virgos masters at organizing, as well as naturals in the area of self-improvement. When it comes to self-improvement, this is true in regards to physical body health since Virgo is an Earth sign. An interesting fact about Virgo is it rules our digestive system, which includes how the body filters what is nourishment and what is waste—what the body needs and what doesn’t belong.

Virgo’s planetary ruler is Mercury. Mercury is the planet that governs how the mind processes information, so this energy shapes the Virgoan filtration system. This is both a blessing and a curse: When the apt critical eye used for a clear and purifying gaze at the world is turned in as a sharp sword against the self. The energy can be intensely scrutinizing, and this habit of self-criticism can be destructive.

Directing the Energy of Virgo through Ritual

How everyone appreciates Virgo:  “Virgo, you’re so smart, helpful and good-looking,”

When Virgo looks in the mirror: *inserts deflective self-depreciating comment*

The habit of being overly self-critical, which is he lower octave of the Virgoan archetype, is engrained in all of our lives to some extent. But that doesn’t make it good for us! This Virgo Full Moon is calling for us to eliminate this toxic tendency. The process of separating the wheat from the chaff is important; it brings a purity to our mundane reality (Virgo Full Moon) that creates room for magic. We must do this by embracing the higher octave of Virgo and this is where habit of ritual work comes in.

So, let’s get to it friends!! It’s time for a little ritual magic. We’re going to begin a month-long ritual in our daily routines by engaging in mirror work. If you have never done this before or need a refresher, we’ve listed some exercises below.

ASTRO.GONG.YOGA Full Moon in Virgo Workshop

Full Moon in Virgo Ritual Mirror Work

Building a ritual of mirror work with phrases and affirmations might seem insignificant at first, but it is through these words that you build compassion, acceptance and embodiment for yourself. Take five minutes of your time to do step three every day.

Exercise 1: Mirror Work – Acknowledgment/ Honesty of Negative Self-Talk

Choosing to face ourselves honestly by doing mirror work can bring up feelings, thoughts, and emotions that may be uncomfortable. But it’s important that we become fully aware of the scope of negative self-talk or critical thoughts that are present within us. Be brave yogis! You only need to do this once.

  • If needed, play a song to support the emotional body.
  • Stare at a mirror for three to five minutes with the intention of holding space for your interpersonal relationship with your self. Look yourself in the eyes, scan your facial features, your facial expression, and your posture. Become aware of the inner dialogue running in your mind as you are witnessing self.
  • Begin to speak aloud what is coming to your mind, as if you were telling someone what you are sensing, seeing, and feeling.
  • Speak as honestly to yourself as possible. The harshness that could come up could surprise you. It could sound something like the following dialogue. “I don’t like what I’m looking at. I don’t feel confident. This is uncomfortable. I hate my hair. The eyes under my eyes bug me.”

Exercise 2: Journaling – Cultivating Compassion

  • Take some time to journal a list of four compassionate, kind, and loving phrases or affirmations.
  • To make this easier, you can imagine what you would tell a friend to uplift them after hearing their self-criticism, or what you would like to hear when you’re down and need encouragement in light of the awareness created in exercise 1.
  • Examples: “I love you no matter how you are feeling, no matter what mood you’re in. You deserve to create happiness in your life. I am worthy, even when I don’t feel beautiful.”

Step 3: Ritual Mirror Work – Affirmations/ Phrases, Compassionate Self-Talk

  • Before beginning your compassionate self-talk, be present to any feelings that come up and try to cultivate a compassionate space for them, like you would a loved one.
  • Have the affirmations and phrases handy, and with intention, begin repeating each of them three times in a row while holding your gaze in the mirror.

How to Explore the Illumination of January’s Full Moon in Leo

Full Moons are time periods that are characterized by an increased emotional intensity. These are also times of endings and culminations of cycles. And they are illuminations as the Sun shines brightly onto the subconscious of the Moon.  January’s Full Moon in Leo will highlight some integral feels we must allow ourselves to feel. Our inner child has a personal message for us and it’s our job to listen.

As I look at the transits of the Full Moon in Leo (January 28, 2021), I can envision two small children playing against the backdrop of a war-torn country. Rubble and rocks from buildings that are knocked off their foundations become race cars in their minds as they zoom around an imaginary racetrack. Although this image could be saddening, from a different perspective, it’s an ode to the courage that comes with honoring our personal joys as a child would, or as a Leo would do.

The Courage to Choose Joy

It is a courageous sentiment to choose joy and to cultivate it for ourselves despite the outside circumstances that can act in direct opposition to that joy. For a child who is not jaded, the instinct to choose joy is natural. It is a human right. Once upon a time, you had this same sacred flame within you, before the harsh realities of the world kidnapped you.

Recognizing joy and tuning into the lessons of our inner child may seem to be challenging pursuits to follow in our current climate. But this is a time for us to connect to the image of the children I saw of finding joy amongst hardships.  Those children are you, they’re me, they’re us, and they are pleading, “But what about love, what about joy, what about play and what about fun!?

There is something to be said about the magic in these Leo themes, the childlike essence that honors the absolute need of heartfelt anything.

The strangest gift is being offered to us during these revolutionary times. The Moon is illuminating the needs of our inner children. It is our duty to be the crusader of these needs.

We may ask if we still must do this, “Under the conditions of the world!?

YES! Is the answer.

Under any condition.

Although, during this Leo Full Moon, we may come to learn the lessons of yearning, old wounding patterns, and endings, we can also allow our internal flame to be lit. We can receive the magic found when we open our eyes to the incredible importance of fueling this flame and flighting for its life.

A Journal Prompt/Visualization for the Full Moon in Leo

Find a quiet space, break out your journal, and take a moment to visualize and interact with your inner child.

Connect to a memory of your inner child during which they’re NOT living in their child-like essence. (This might be never for some of us, and it’s important to acknowledge that.)  If there isn’t a moment you can remember then it’s time to start this process and tap into your imagination.

Allow yourself to become aware that you in the present moment is a separate entity of this child. Become the observer. Tune into what are they doing and even what are they wearing. Feel into some of the following questions. Are they happy? Are they sad? What are they feeling? Is there anyone around them?

Take this moment to be present with this child, offer them understanding and compassion.

Journal around the answers to the following questions.

  1. How are they feeling? (Do they feel sad, lonely, angry?)
  2. What does it seem like they need based on this feeling? (Connection, attention, the ability to feel joy and be a child, the ability express themselves?)
  3. What do you think is preventing them from receiving what they need? (Generational patterning, lack of security, lack of connection, feelings of being misunderstood?)
  4. Do these same feelings mirror what I experience currently while looking to meet the need of joy in my life?  If so, how?
  5. Interaction point: If this child were sitting in front of you right now, how could you help meet their needs of personal joy and child-like essence? (Do they need to be held, do they need attention, do they need a friend, a mother or father?)

This Full Moon offers us an opportunity for transformation by bringing our attention to this child. Ask them what they need. Honor the innate Leo regality of the heart and the child. Reflect and then carry the lessons learned forward as we find joy, no matter the circumstances, and then hopscotch into the rest of 2021.

Transformation in the Stars: Astrology May 2020

When we consider the jyotish, or Vedic Astrology forecast May 2020, we note the aspects around transformation and reconnection. This month’s Libra Full Moon on May 7 offers some energy that supports compromise as well as connection with others. It can be fruitful to tap into this energy at this time. The New Moon on May 22 begins a cycle that supports greater clarity. Use this energy to propel yourself forward in a space of healing.

Jyotish May 7

Today we have the Full Moon in Libra, which provides a point of contrast to the New Moon in Aries of a couple weeks ago. This Full Moon brings other people, relationships, and compromise into this current self-driven Aries cycle. Aries is driving this lunation period toward a lot of individuality. That independence can seem fruitless if we don’t have others to share our bounty with. There will be a strong desire to connect with others at this time.

This Full Moon happens in Vishaka Nakshatra, ruled by Lord Indra and Lord Agni. These were the two main deities of the Rig Veda. They are related to fire and lightning and show a transformative nature, in which our personal relationships become more transpersonal and elevated toward higher culture.

Vedic Astrology May 14

Saturn and Jupiter are retrograde now for months–through the end of summer. We may see a reversal of “social distancing” and the current lockdown and quarantines that we are now experiencing. If not immediately, then within a short period of time. However, we will be dealing with stress, challenges, and the consequences of what this coronavirus epidemic has left behind. Namely: grieving, personal loss, and some devastation to the planet. It will be a time to reflect on where we go from here – as a species and individually.

May 22

There is a New Moon in Taurus now, which begins a 30-day cycle of comfort, happiness, and caring for each other. Taurus is ruled by Venus, the planet of love, beauty and harmony. These will be important features of the next 30 days. Pulling together individually and culturally will be front and center. Rebuilding and reconnecting will be important. In addition, Venus is joined this New Moon, showing healing and comfort to be readily available and accessible to all.

This New Moon is happening in Kritikka Nakshatra, the star of purification and clarity. We will feel very empowered to face our plight with intelligence and courage.

Jyotish Forecast: Astrology April 2020

While we are in the midst of a global pandemic, the Astrology April 2020 provides information about prevalent energetic patterns. The Full Moon in Virgo offers us energetic support for recognizing the details necessary to manifest mystical dreams. April’s debilitated Mercury cautions us to be wary of being caught in the trap of negative projections or conspiracy theories. Keep your attention on the positivity of the Sun, which allow us to see the literal light at the end of the tunnel as well as the strength we need to persevere.

April 7

There will be a Full Moon in Virgo today. This is the midway point in the current Pisces cycle. The Full Moon in Virgo brings skill, details, and organization as a point of contrast to our current Piscean state. Our current state could be one of escapism, tuning out, or not facing reality—but also accompanied by a deeper mysticism. Now we will notice all the important facts, data, and details necessary to bring mystical dreams into concrete reality. This allows us to create Heaven on Earth, or at least come as close as we might.

This Full Moon is happening in Hasta Nakshatra, related to the hand. This is the hand of manifestation, that allows us to organize and arrange things correctly. But we may also have a lot of attachment to the fruits of our labors. Be careful of that.

April 7 – April 24

Mercury is debilitated during this time, so we may lose some of our discrimination. Be careful of a tendency to space out. Even more important, be careful of dark projections and even paranoia at this time. This debilitated Mercury is aspected by Saturn—which is the planet of stress, pressure, and difficulty. Of course, the world in which we are now living has a lot of difficulty. We’re trying to get through a global pandemic. So, we don’t need to compound it with ultra-negativity, conspiracy theories, and other unproductive projections.

April 13

The Sun enters Aries, where he is exalted. This is a great transit. The Sun here brings purification, confidence, and power. It also gives us the strength and courage to follow through on what we know is right. We can now face the truth and enthusiastically act upon it for the betterment of everyone. The Sun also shines on us and gives us the enthusiasm to persevere through difficulty, because we can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

April 22

We have the New Moon in Aries today, which begins a 30-day cycle where these Aries themes are front and center in everyone’s life. For the next 30 days not only will that exalted Sun create greater potential, we will feel empowered to put that potential into practice. This is a powerful ally for entrepreneurs, business people, and all of us who are putting into practice what we know is right, for the long haul. There is a lot of individuality and “following your light” now. But it may reveal separation or distance in our intimate relationships.

This New Moon takes place in Ashwini Nakshatra, related to the physicians of the gods. And boy, do we need physicians now! We could see some important medical breakthroughs at this time, with an unexpected discovery that helps us turn the corner.

April 25

A few days after the New Moon is this auspicious day called Akshaya Tritiya. This is the third day after the New Moon in Aries, when both the Sun and Moon are exalted. This is perhaps the most auspicious day of the year. It is a day for wealth, health, and all auspicious endeavors. This year it is also joined Venus in Taurus, a very powerful blessing, for healing connections and love.

Jyotish: Vedic Astrology Forecast March

March begins in the midst of a Mercury retrograde cycle that started on February 17. This offers a meaningful opportunity to evaluate our communication to prepare for the strategic time of Mars’ auspicious and exalted position in Capricorn in March. The Astrology forecast March allows us to focus on serving a higher cause through our spiritual practices.

Astrology Forecast March 9

The March 9 Full Moon in Leo comes in opposition to the recent New Moon in Aquarius. Whereas Aquarius is concerned with the collective, this Full Moon reflects back on each individual. How are you personally participating in the evolution of our collective consciousness? You need to find your passion and your heart’s desire. Serving a higher cause doesn’t mean that you need to sublimate your passion. In fact, you need to make your passion into something that benefits everyone. That’s the best game in town!

This happens in the Nakshatra of Purva Phalguni, ruled by the god of delight. Take joy in sharing your power with the masses, rather than hoarding it as if it’s going out of style.

March 22

Mars enters Capricorn until May 4. Mars is exalted in this sign, making this a time to be strategic about your battles. You will feel equipped to continue the fight that began when Mars entered Sagittarius in early February. Now you can plan more strategically and to be more methodical and practical. A great martial artist does not become angry or flustered. She has a cool head and a soft heart. Become stronger with your spiritual practices, and commit to daily practice.

March 24

The New Moon in Pisces begins a 30-day cycle related to creativity, metaphysics, and seeking higher wisdom beyond this earth. It’s time to step into the places where we have one foot in the other world. But we can also want to escape from this world, and “check out” from our duties and responsibilities. It is important to be tuned in but not checked out this month.

This happens in the Nakshatra of Uttara Bhadra, related to the celestial serpent Ahi Bhudnya. Now is a time when we can dig deeply into the nature of the mind and try to heal its toxic attachments. There is great redemption and devotion in this process.

Beauty, Devotion, and Spiritual Medicine for Astrology February 2020

Beauty is the theme of the month for the forecast when we look at the transits in Vedic Astrology February 2020. Since Venus represents beauty and creativity, its movements throughout the next few weeks are provide energetic support for our connections to beauty. Beyond Valentine’s Day, use the time well for devotional pursuits that lead to the spiritual medicine the world needs now.

February 3

Venus is exalted in Pisces until February 28, so expect to feel a sense of beauty and creativity settle into your life. Now is a good time to connect with your romantic partners, and do your best to repair those relationships. But you may also put a lot of pressure on them, which can leads to disappointment. Ultimately we are looking for a higher and more sublime connection to beauty and to the source of that beauty.

February 8

Today Mars enters Sagittarius until March 22, making this a great time to defend those things that you think are right. Fight the good fight, but try not to destroy your enemies in the process. After all, it is the principle that are worth fighting for, not the people. Align with the highest good now and show up with courage and strength. But again, watch the anger.

February 9

There will be a Full Moon in Cancer today, which brings an emotional contrast to the recent New Moon in Capricorn. Feel the sensitivity and connection to your heart. This sensitivity helps to contrast the practical, rational, and even fearful nature of Capricorn. Balancing the long-term, rational commitments with the emotions and feelings in the moment is significant now.

This happens in the Nakshatra of Aslesha, related to a coiled serpent. This serpent can take us to the depths of devotion. We do well to align our devotion with pure teachings rather than our personal desires.

February 17

Mercury turns retrograde in Aquarius until March 10. This is a time to reflect on our ideas and to discover how to best share them with our tribe. Use this Mercury retrograde cycle to evaluate your language and communication style—look to see if these are really beneficial. Are they bringing you closer to your personal goals or your collective goals, or is it all just about trying to get what you want? Notice how well you are accepted in your chosen group and how your words have contributed to that acceptance.

February 23

The New Moon in Aquarius begins 30 days that support looking toward your collective goals and inspirations. Are you ready to “Be the change” that you imagine? We all feel a certain duty and obligation to leave the world better than we found it. Now is the time to look higher than just your own personal ambitions and turn your gaze toward something more worthwhile – toward something worth sacrificing for.

This happens in the Nakshatra of Shatbishak, related to what is known as the “100 doctors.” This is a great time for deeper, metaphysical healing. You can play your part in that global healing. The planet, society and its individuals all need deep spiritual medicine now.

The New Decade: Astrology January 2020 Forecast and Trends

The new decade begins in the midst of an eclipse cycle. A cycle that offers us the opportunity for deeper insight. We would do well to use our practices to harness the energy of the Jyostish or Vedic Astrology January 2020 and beyond.

January 10

There is a Full Moon / Eclipse in Gemini today that exemplifies the themes of Astrology January 2020. This powerful eclipse brings into greater contrast the Solar Eclipse of two weeks ago. Remember that intense Christmas Day, and how I told you to be careful to not get into philosophical arguments? Well, now you have a couple weeks to clean up any potential messes, starting today. Besides that, this may be a good time to actually start to communicate about some of the things you were holding back on a couple weeks ago. The energy of Gemini includes skillful communication and good communication includes listening to what others say.

This Full Moon / Eclipse will be in Punarvasu Nakshatra, related to the divine mother goddess, Aditi, the personification of the infinite and the mother of many of the gods. This divine mother energy takes our ideas and brings them into the heart – leading to greater compassion.

January 24

This New Moon is in Capricorn and begins a new cycle of concentration, duty, commitment, and service which comes after the inspiration delivered by Sagittarius. It is not enough to be inspired. Inspiration must lead to a course of action where we work through our problems and stay the course. This is the only way we make real progress in life. After all, it is easy to be inspired, but once the hard work begins we can lose our way.

The next 30 days will be a great test and will reveal what is most important to you. What are you not willing to give up on when the going gets tough?

This New Moon is in Uttara Ashada Nakshatra, related to the universal gods. These gods include “Time”, “Action”, “Passion” and a lot more. If we are to succeed in life all of these universal energies or powers must be aligned. Again, what are you not willing to give up on when the going gets tough?

January 24

Saturn moves into Capricorn beginning a 2 1/2 year cycle which will empower us to be more self-possessed, humble, and committed to our salvation. But first we must work through our emotional problems and difficulties. Our biggest emotional problems involve facing our fear of loneliness and even death. This could be a heavy couple of years, but certainly a time of enormous growth and getting real on the bone level.

Woman Meditating for Vedic Astrology December 2019

The transition of this year—and this decade—has some intense energy. The Vedic Astrology December 2019 forecast includes some transits that support increasing commitment to meditation practice, bringing greater beauty into your life, letting go of being bound to old ways of thinking, cultivating skillful communication, and connecting to a deeper source of wisdom.

Jyotish Forecast: Vedic Astrology December 2019

December 11

There is a Full Moon in Taurus today. This brings a sense of stability and peace in contrast to the probing, restlessness of Scorpio, which is the sign of the Sun and the site of the recent New Moon. The Taurus Full Moon Cycle is a time to harmonize and integrate the transformation of Scorpio with the structure and foundation of Taurus. The motto at this time could be: The more things change the more they stay the same. But now is also a time to bring greater beauty into your life, especially with friends and family.

This Full Moon will be in Mrigashira Nakshatra, ruled by the head of a deer and related to the restless wandering that seeks variety and something new. This is the time to shed the rusty chains that keep you bound to old ways of thinking.

December 16

Venus will be in Saturn’s signs, and in what is known as great friend dignity (an auspicious position), until early February. This is good for romantic relationships and all negotiated agreements. It is also a good time for being humble and appreciative of others. The desire for connection comes from Venus while the desire to stabilize and make a commitment comes from Saturn. This is why Venus is dignified in Saturn’s signs.

December 25

Today has both a New Moon and a Solar Eclipse in Sagittarius. This will be a very intense Christmas because of the eclipse, as well as a conjunction with Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn, Sun, and Moon in Sagittarius. Be mindful not to get too “fired up” about your beliefs today. Sagittarius is a sign of religion and higher beliefs, and can include being fanatical about those beliefs. However, there is also a lot of potential for deeper insight, especially if you are a spiritual person or have an authentic spiritual practice – like meditation. Beyond that, try to be more of a peacemaker and not a bomb thrower.

This New Moon / Eclipse will be in Mula Nakshatra, related to the goddess Kali. This is a destructive goddess whose fierce dance destroys worlds and decapitates people’s false ideas. Enough said.

December 26

Mars is in Scorpio until early February starting today. Greater concentration, discipline, and self-mastery will be flowing. But you may also get into emotional struggles with others, so be careful about being baited into ridiculous arguments and battles of will. Those who are insecure will be ready for battle. The remedy is to connect with a deeper source of wisdom. This is an especially good time for your meditation practices and personal discipline routines.

Showing Joy Astrology for November

The lessons coming up this fall that are featured in the Vedic Astrology for November include an emphasis on connecting to your own creativity. Appreciate the emphasis on boundaries and the balancing act between speaking with your inner voice and finding compromise in interpersonal relationships. Remember that you do not need permission to shine brightly. And live like Lord Krishna’s devotee Radha: motivated by friendship and pure joy.

November 1

Mercury turns retrograde until November 21 in Scorpio. Later in the retrograde cycle, Mercury backs up into Libra. This is a time to reflect on speech, communication, and finding our inner voice. Jealousy, feeling triggered, and instances of manipulation can come up. You have to be careful not to engage in those practices or you may also suspect that the people around you are doing them. Shift your energy into expressing your creativity and learn to clearly put feelings into words.

November 5

Jupiter enters Sagittarius, where it will be for the next year. Jupiter is the ruler of Sagittarius, making this a very important transit for connecting to your higher purpose and expressing your spirituality. Here Jupiter joins Ketu, the South Node. The influence of the South Node brings a deeply probing and dissatisfied quality so you may notice all the areas in your life where you see that your teachers and spiritual practices are falling short.

November 12

This Full Moon in Aries is opposite Libra, and takes place within the Libra cycle that began in October. As you remember, this Libra cycle is about relationships, compromise, and diplomacy. But this Full Moon in Aries reveals a point of contrast to Libra. Aries asks us to honor our own individuality as equal as our desire to compromise. Shallow agreements will lead to frustration. So make sure that you are clear about your own No Compromise Zones.

This Full Moon is in Bharani Nakshatra, which is related to consequences and limitations. The symbol of this Nakshatra is the female reproductive system. When our combined energy and mental effort produce a result, we give birth to something. What is born must be cared for—even thought the resistance in life that we must navigate. This is an important lesson now.

November 26

Today’s New Moon is in Scorpio. This begins a 30-day cycle of Scorpio energy, which includes the ability to stabilize our emotions and transform them into strengths. We may feel stuck in our feelings and not know how to move through things creatively. This experience of being stuck may lead to obsessions and painful attachments if we’re not careful. And, those attachments may turn into toxic projections onto others. Instead, take this opportunity to go deeper into a devotional state, where the emotions are stabilized and deepened—rather than projected onto others out of fear.

This New Moon is in Anuradha Nakshatra, a section of sky that is deeply devotional, related to Lord Krishna’s devotee Radha. Rather than being motivated by desires, Radha was motivated by friendship and pure joy. This is a great lesson to live for the next 30 days.

Caring for Animals is important in the Astrology Forecast for October

One of the aspects of Jyotish is the ability to identify the flow of energy throughout the year. The astrology forecast for October reveals some auspicious times for deepening our practice. The month begins with opportunities for closure, compromise, and consensus. Caring for animals and each other is important this month. Throughout October, maintain a devotional connection to everything beyond yourself. In moments when you may lose confidence, keep the faith and maintain your clarity of vision.

October 4

Venus enters Libra where it will be for the next several weeks. Libra is the sign in which Venus, the planet of joy and relationships, is the strongest. For the next several weeks, there will be many opportunities to smooth over difficult relationships, create compromise, and find consensus with others. It’s also a great time for engaging in other forms of creativity, appreciating beauty, and enjoying life.

October 13

Today’s Full Moon in Pisces begins a 30-day cycle related to creativity, higher inspiration, and purpose. This cycle also supports connections to something beyond this Earth. But at the same time, be careful of the tendency toward escapism and checking out. Now is a time for service and devotion to something higher. This can lead to gurus, deeper wisdom, sacred teachings, and metaphysics. Be careful of boundaries because the longing to merge will be strong, but you are still in a body on the Earth.

This Full Moon will be in Revati Nakshatra, a section of the sky that is related to the Shepherd, the one who leads the soul home after a long and weary journey. Caring for the underprivileged, as well as for animals, is important at this time.

October 18

The Sun will be debilitated in Libra for 30 days which may result in feeling a lack of confidence. Be wary of giving up on your vision in order to make others happy. The Sun represents the part of your mind and consciousness that wants to transcend beyond your own confidence along with other people’s opinions. You do not need permission to shine brightly. Remember those who benefit from your light and power and serve them, rather than serving your comfort zone.

October 27

Today’s New Moon in Libra starts 30-day cycle with a focus on relationships, diplomacy, and happiness. Finding a sense of joy and connection with others is important. This is an ideal month to make progress with your interpersonal relationships, especially intimate ones. But we may also develop attachments to others as the source of our happiness. Be careful losing yourself in others.

This New Moon will be in Swati Nakshatra, which has to do with prana and how to effectively manage our pranic energy. We frequently waste our energy in useless desires, including unsupportive relationships, excess stimulation, or sexuality without intimacy.

Statue and the Sky for Astrology September 2019

As we prepare for the Fall Equinox, the forecast showcasing transits for the trends in astrology September 2019 ask us to wide the waves of change and fluctuations. Through practice, stay connected to your true nature. Invite the lightning strikes of inspiration and continue to perform your dharmic duties without attachment to the results.

September 3-11

You may feel frustrations boiling over now as Mars is combust and Venus is burnt up and near debilitated, all at the same time. And this is happening in Leo, a sign of individuality. You may notice how your relationships are frustrating and the compromises you have to make in them do not feel worth it. It’s not too hard to ride this out, especially if you want to connect with more of your individual passions. Sexuality or other expressions of affection will be more prominently featured now.

September 13

The Full Moon is in Aquarius, bringing contrast to the Sun in Leo. This is where the king has to take care of all of their kingdom and the citizens in their world. Notice how you are not the center of attention, pay attention to how you might feel better when acting as a source of power for others. It’s this contrast that brings completion to the Leo principle and allows for your “Good King” persona to emerge. On this Full Moon, notice the consensus opinion that comes back to you from the others in your world.

This Full Moon happens in Purva Bhadra Nakshatra which is ruled by the image of the one-footed goat, and related to lightning striking the Earth. This is the lightning strike that gives us the spark of inspiration from beyond. It offers us an important glimpse of our true nature and provides a catalyst for our emerging spiritual development.

September 18

Saturn stops his retrograde motion in Sagittarius. We’ve been reflecting on our duties and commitments since April 30 when Saturn began this movement. The duties and commitments related to the Sagittarius themes are important now. What is inspiring you and leading you to something beyond your day-to-day existence? There has been a lot of free calibrating of your inspirations since late April. Over this time, we have seen a lot of our illusions shattered and our belief systems called into question, in all areas of life. Our personal, relational, and political belief systems have all shifted.

September 28

The Moon is new in Virgo today, which starts a 30-day cycle related to details, precision, and reflecting on the best ways to organize your life. Virgo energy allows you to arrange your personal kingdom sensibly. Virgo is motivated by service and humility, but also a sense of worry – particularly as you notice all of the details that need to be organized.

This New Moon happens in Hasta Nakshatra. Hasta refers to being ruled by “the hand,” which is connected to karma, actions, and your attachment to those actions. The best way to perform your duties is without attachment to the results. In this way, Hasta has to do with an open hand, not one squeezed tight.

Person meditating Vedic Astrology Forecast August

When planets move direct, they allow us to implement the lessons that arose when they were retrograde. In the Vedic Astrology Forecast August, 2019, Mercury and then Jupiter move into direct motion. Our tasks include our own forward momentum served by greater clarity and heart-centered alignment after significant shifts in our personal and collective belief systems. The solutions, as always, arise from open hands and open hearts.

August 1

Mercury in Gemini stops his retrograde motion now, which means we should expect to see some of our emotional and communication fog lifting. Mercury turned retrograde in Cancer on July 8. This began a cycle of emotional communication which hopefully included developing more skill as a listener and experiencing greater reflection. When information is aligned with the heart, it leads to actual wisdom—and gives us the ability to explain that wisdom to others.

August 11

Jupiter in Scorpio stops his retrograde motion today. Jupiter turned retrograde in Scorpio on April 11 which began a cycle of introspection related to our imagined fears and how we might be manipulated by those fears. The promise of this placement is that it supports our ability to find a deeper devotional stance, beyond everything that it could be triggering. Hopefully, you have noticed that the best response to this world and its embedded darkness is to foster a greater connection to the heart.

August 15

The Moon is now full in Capricorn which contrasts the Sun in Cancer (the connection to the heart and emotions) and shows us the practical steps that must be taken in order to ground those emotions. Excessive sentiment makes us self-centered and needy. You may come to this realization today. Don’t despair. Learn the lesson and connect to a more devotional state of mind.

This Full Moon takes place in Dhanishta Nakshatra, which is related to Lord Shiva’s drum of creation. We can create based on what we value the most. For example, we may value money. We may value people. We may value our spiritual development. Or we may have any number of other values. Ask yourself: What do I value?

August 30

With this New Moon in Leo, the Sun and Moon come together to begin a new cycle. The influence of Leo can promote feelings of fiery enthusiasm. But this same fire may also burn up our mind, our emotions, and even the other people in our lives. Notice your level of enthusiasm for the projects you are pursuing. Also, notice how much of your own ego is wrapped up in those pursuits and how much those pursuits are your heart’s desire.

Being connected to the heart allows you to overcome the wavering confidence issues that can accompany egoistic pursuits. This New Moon happens in Magha Nakshatra, which is related to the divine ancestors. This is a great time to connect with sacred teachings and the lessons they have given you. This Nakshatra also emphasizes the energy of your family and your lineage.

Vedic Astrology Forecast July 2

Today there is both a New Moon and a Solar Eclipse in Gemini. Solar eclipses are always transformative events and this one is no different. Now is the time to transform your ideas and preconceived notions, which are qualities of Gemini. Look for better information and data in all areas of your life.

While this information helps you to make sense of the things you believe, it may also shatter your belief systems. Be ready to change and adapt to a new way of thinking and living.

The Nakshatra of this New Moon/Eclipse is Ardra, ruled by Lord Shiva. This is very transformative, so expect something in your life to die or be completely destroyed. This destruction is necessary for the new you to be born, but often the transformation is painful.

July 8

Mercury is retrograde in Cancer until August 1. This is a time when you will be reflecting on your ideas, details, and communication habits. You may notice an excessive emotional content to your interactions. Pay attention to how your message becomes distorted when you are under emotional stress. Bring attention to your communication systems and technology systems today.

July 16

Today’s Lunar Eclipse in Sagittarius takes place on Guru Purnima, the day to celebrate your guru. Needless to say, this is an important date spiritually, perhaps one of the most important of the year. It is also a meaningful day to study. If possible, actually spend time with your important teachers. On Guru Purnima, your mind most easily grasps the true nature of the teachings themselves.

The Nakshatra of this Full Moon is Uttara Ashada which literally means “later victory.” This is the time when your wisdom teachings can emerge victorious over your darker nature – but you need to put them into practice.

July 28

Mars will be combust and be debilitated until October 12. When a planet is combust, it is very close to the Sun, which in the case of Mars, may increase anger and frustration. Be careful of getting into battles, and if you do, make sure to choose wisely. You may be easily tempted to fight; but notice how much energy and power you lose if you are fighting the wrong battle.

Jyotish for June

According to the cycles identified in Vedic Astrology Forecast June, 2019, this summer is a time period of heightened growth and attention to meaningful life lessons as well as opportunities to become immersed in higher wisdom teachings.

June 3

Today’s New Moon in Taurus begins 30-day cycle of focusing on wealth, family structures, and other solid themes in your life. For the next 30 days you may be tempted to sell your values short and compromise too much in order to maintain structure and stability. However, now is a good time to feel that solid ground beneath your feet. Slow down and be present. Enjoy beauty, friends, and family this month.

The Nakshatra of this Full Moon is Rohini, which literally means “growth” or “growing.” It shows the natural tendency in human beings to be creative and to find the joy in creativity.

June 7-12

Jupiter is in Scorpio and is exactly retrograde. At the very least, look up in the sky and feel that radiant joy of higher teaching and expansion. This comes from Jupiter. Now is the time to take those inspiring teachings into the depths of your heart and soul. This supports spiritual devotion. The presence of Jupiter in Scorpio transforms the vulnerability and emotional triggering of Scorpio to a deeper devotional state.

June 15-16

There is a Jupiter / Moon conjunction in Scorpio today, aspected by Venus. Gaze up in the night sky and see that beautiful moon, almost full, next to Jupiter. This configuration also promotes deeper devotion, and embodying higher wisdom, especially the wisdom that comes from what you are able to learn from and change in your lives as a result of facing your fears.

Since the Full Moon is approaching, emotions are running high. Be careful of the toxic ones. The aspects of Venus from Taurus reveal some important life lessons in relationships and perhaps money or values.

June 17

Today’s Full Moon in Sagittarius brings the optimism and hope of Sagittarius and presents that in contrast to the literal and detail-oriented energy of Gemini. June’s is the first of two Full Moons in secretaries this year. This Full Moon continues Jupiter’s theme growth and expansion that have been at play for the past couple of days. Connect with your teachers and the joy that comes from pure wisdom. Be thankful to the ancestors who have preserved the sacred traditions.

The Nakshatra of this Full Moon is Mula. This word means “root,” which describes the need to go deeply into the root of any problems in your life. Pull out the false teachings and plant seeds of truth now.

Astrology Forecast May 2019

The New and Full Moons each month are times of potent energy. Through our practice, we can utilize this energy for purpose, creativity, and even the transformation of what can feel like toxic energy into a powerful practice of devotion. Remain committed to your practice throughout the energetic fluctuations of the month throughout May and beyond.

May 4

The New Moon in Aries begins a 30-day cycle of connecting with your inspired purpose and changing the world for the better. The Sun has already been in Aries for close to 20 days by the time of this New Moon. But at this time we can feel mind, body and spirit coming together around these lessons. Notice how you may naturally be more focused on your work and sense of duty. If your work and contribution are not congruent with your deeper identity, you may feel some frustration.

This New Moon happens in the Nakshatra of Bharani which is related to the creative principles in our lives. The things we focus on produce a result that we need to support or eventually destroy. This process teaches us to focus on what we really love the most.

Vedic Astrology for the Month of May

May 18

There is a Full Moon in Scorpio today. The Moon is debilitated in Scorpio. The energy of Scorpio can lead to restless emotions–and even feeling of being paranoid. So be aware of the possibility of these feelings today.

The creative option is to go deeply into those tumultuous waters, toward a more devotional state. But this requires patience. Those with a spiritual practice can find real solace today, while others will have a hard time managing the potentially toxic emotions.

This Full Moon happens in the Nakshatra of Vishaka, ruled by Lord Indra and Lord Agni, the Gods of lightning and fire. This is supporting the emotional courage necessary to transform toxic emotions into devotion.

Jyotish Forecast for April

The forecast for Vedic Astrology April 2019 teaches us that one of our most important spiritual lessons is to learn howto  live in the world and yet be connected to the world beyond this one. Some important themes for this month include: connecting to our spiritual selves, understanding our beliefs rather than operating from blind faith, and creating clarity.

April 5

There will be a New Moon in Pisces today, which shows a time of creativity, romance, and connecting to things beyond this earth. Pisces is the sign of inspiration, and perhaps escapism. There is a part of you that is in this world but not of this world and that connection to what is beyond is related to Pisces. It’s important to keep one foot in both worlds and connect with your spiritual self.

This New Moon is in Revati Nakshatra, which is related to “the shepherd” energy. The shepherd leads the soul home after a weary journey. This New Moon happens at the last degrees of the zodiac, where the soul is completing its course. Just relax and surrender into your higher self now.

April 11

Jupiter turns retrograde in Sagittarius until August 12, this supports reflecting on your teachings and inspirations. It’s important to check in emotionally and psychologically with what inspires you and the teachings you are following. Notice how well you understand your beliefs and how much is just blind faith. These will be important themes for the next couple of months.

April 14

Sun enters Aries, his sign of exultation. For the next 30 days you will feel a renewed sense of confidence and power. This is a great month to build your career and become more clear on your life purpose. Bringing your actions into alignment with your higher purpose and sense of courage will be easy for the next 30 days. But you may be in too much of a hurry. So notice how your relationships may suffer, and make sure to combine patience with ambition.

April 19

There will be a Full Moon in Libra, which harmonizes the assertive and individualism of Aries. You may feel the need to slow down and reflect. Notice how much you may be only living for yourself and your own desires and goals. Libra is a sign of compromise and yielding to another’s wishes. It will be important to honor the other person’s wishes equal to your own.

This Full Moon is in Chitra Nakshatra, which relates to passion and creativity. The ruler of this Nakshatra is the celestial architect. It could be a great day of creativity and finding joy. But it’s also a day for being the architect of a better relationship and more conscious interaction with your partner or other people in your life.

April 26

Saturn and the South Node join in close proximity until October making this one of the most intense cycles of the entire year. There may be social ramifications such as restrictions on legal issues and government officials. But you will also notice the effect in your personal life, where there could be a shattering of illusions around what inspires you and what you believe in.

Be ready to have your paradigm changed, shattered, and pressured for the next several months, starting now.

April 30

Saturn turns retrograde in Sagittarius until September 18. When Saturn turns retrograde, we reflect on our commitments and where we are going in life. We are meant to recalibrate our commitments from time to time. This is why Saturn is retrograde almost half the time. This is a great opportunity to become clear about what inspires you and where you are going in your life.

Vedic Astrology Forecast Jyotish March 2019

The transits at play in the Astrology March 2019 call upon us to connect to our commitments to social responsibility and to use our skills and gifts for good.

This Spring gives us the opportunity to change course, while maintaining our connection to our inner truth.

March 5

Mercury goes Retrograde in Pisces until March 28. Along the way, it backs up into Aquarius. We will collectively experience how unity, creativity, and escapism must be brought back into the world of culture and shared social responsibilities. Sometimes we just want to leave all of the unpleasantness of the world. But we are still citizens, looking to preserve something for the betterment of all. It’s good to remember we are in the world but not of the world. This is an opportunity to use our skills and communication as forces of good.

March 6

Today’s New Moon in Aquarius begins a 30-day cycle of shared social duties and responsibilities. It’s a great time to pick up on the themes of shared social responsibilities. This energy supports our ability to build the world we want to share and inhabit together.

Now is the time to turn adversaries and enemies into allies. What kind of world do you want to leave behind? Clarify your contribution to the world on a larger scale.

This New Moon happens in Purva Bhadra Nakshatra which is related to lightning and the celestial power that comes down from above to impact our lives. Look for a lightning strike of inspiration. Well illuminated, these inspirations could change your entire life.

March 13

Jupiter hovers between Scorpio and Sagittarius until May 8, making this a transformative time for your beliefs and larger purpose. This is a volatile section of the sky, near the plane of the galaxy.

There could be some real eruptions in your spiritual life, with your teachers as well as with your sense of purpose. But be careful not to just indiscriminately blow things up in this regard. You may be triggered or experience other heightened or amplified emotions.

At the same time, this is an opportunity to take full advantage of how the shifting sands beneath your feet create a lot of possibilities. Be vigilant and recognize the movements of what could be an entirely new course in your life.

March 20

Today’s Full Moon in Virgo brings skill, details, and precision into your thinking and feeling nature. Of course, emotions and feelings are kind of messy and Virgo wants to organize things in a practical way.

This can lead to some spiritual benefit as long as you don’t become too self-critical or critical of others. Be wary of becoming too fussy about your emotional imperfections. Instead, be very sensible about the things in your life that are taking you away from a deeper heart connection.

Good places to start this practice of attention and sensibility are around your daily habits as well as what you eat and drink.

This Full Moon happens in Uttara Phalguni Nakshatra which is ruled by the god of contracts and official duties. It’s a good time to button up the loose ends in our life. Now is also an opportune time to make and strengthen alliances with those who can help you reach your goals.

March 23

Rahu and Ketu change signs and move into the Gemini / Sagittarius axis where they will be for the next year and a half. This long-term transit will have effects on all of us. It will show a shift toward a more intelligent and rational approach to life.

Collectively we may see shocking facts revealed that could bring into question a lot of our current confusion around things like “fake news” and other conspiracies of the last several years. In your personal life, look for similar revelations and disclosures that will challenge you to think with more intelligence and adjust accordingly to this new information.

Vedic Astrology Forecast February 2019

Early in the month of February, the New Moon offers us the opportunity to recalibrate our commitments. On the spiritual path, we learn to connect to our inner voice and allow that guidepost to point us in the direction of inspiration. When our traditions help us find our truth, then we are in the midst of power that is real and that restores us.

New Moon on February 4

The New Moon in Capricorn launches a 30-day cycle of consolidating resources as well as experiencing greater solitude and cultivating introspection. We may also experience quite a bit of emotional pressure and stress. Capricorn is ruled by Saturn, so it shows the weight of time bearing down on us. The best we can do is approach this pressure with maturity and dignity. It’s also a good time to recalibrate your commitments and see what is worth focusing on and what is worth letting go of through this cycle.

This New Moon happens in Shravana Nakshatra, related to listening and hearing. This is a great time to quiet the mind, listen to your deep inner voice and allow that voice to connect you to all things.

Full Moon on February 19

The Full Moon in Leo connects the heart and mind with a fiery individualism. Often this comes at the expense of our relationships and our deep personal connections. Be careful. Use this time to clarify and illuminate your personal passions. But remember: there’s no need to torch your relationships in the process. Follow your inspiration.

This Full Moon happens in Magha Nakshatra which relates to legacy and family. Magha Nakshatra also connects us to the true source of our power, which is our spiritual teachings and traditions.
