50 easy ways to make today healthier

Every day, we make a plethora of choices that impact our health. Truth be told, we’re making these choices on an hourly basis, often more frequently than that. Over the course of a day, those decisions really add up. So how can we make the most of them? Here are 50 simple ways you can make today healthier than yesterday or the day before that.

  1. Give yourself 5 extra minutes to get ready in the morning.
  2. Eat a breakfast that includes carbs, fat and protein.
  3. Brush and floss your teeth upon rising.
  4. Go to bed 15 minutes earlier than you did last night.
  5. Discover what a true portion size is.
  6. Go for a brisk walk during your lunch break.
  7. Continue a good habit you started yesterday.
  8. Stand up every hour for at least 1 minute.
  9. Try a new healthy recipe.
  10. Set a SMART goal.
  11. Make an effort to smile more often.
  12. Take the day off of social media.
  13. Drink one more cup of water than you did yesterday.
  14. Learn how to do a new exercise.
  15. Take the stairs instead of the elevator or escalator.
  16. Do something you don’t get to do often that makes you happy.
  17. Eat before you go to the grocery store.
  18. Opt for whole fruit instead of fruit juice.
  19. Plan your meals for tomorrow today.
  20. Climb a flight (or more) of stairs once a day ” just because.”
  21. Read an article about health, wellness or nutrition.
  22. Fill half your plate with fruits and veggies.
  23. Try to cut your sodium intake by half.
